We are celebrating the life of Juliet Anderson, also known as "Aunt Peg", who passed away yesterday at the age of 71.  

Aunt Peg, the 'original cougar', made over 70 films during the Golden Age of Porn (1970s) always playing strong and rambunctious roles.  Her spirit and her age set her apart from the average porn star.  She didn't enter into the porn until she age 39 when she starred in her first role -- Pretty Peaches.

The rest of her life was as lively as she portrayed it on screen.  She excelled not only as a porn-star and adult film director, but she was also a counsellor and a massage therapist.

But Aunt Peg’s passion for life didn't stopped there. Over her life-time  she learned fluent Japanese, taught English in Mexico and Greece, became a "top-ranking" radio producer in Finland, and worked as a secretary to a nudie film producer. She also worked as as an Avis Rent-A-Car employee, a cocktail waitress, a fashion model, and a receptionist for the Home Offices of Burger King -- all in Miami, Fla. Later, she managed a bed-and-breakfast in Northern California.

Why is Aunt Peg so important to many of us at Libida? Because, she was a vibrant woman who exuded confidence and joy around her sexuality. She brought an unapologetic air and sex-positive glow to whichever role she played.

The reason for Aunt Peg’s death is still not known, although she suffered from the painful Crohn’s disease. She died in her Berkeley home, still working as a massage therapist

We are all richer for her joyous and sexual life.
